Hey y’all!
This was a busy week (and also it seems like we wake up to a fresh new horror every day), but I still managed to carve out some great reading time. I also wrote 5k words on a new witchy romance draft and met with my crit partner to workshop our pieces for the month. My writing has improved so much since she and I started meeting monthly to give each other feedback!
Here’s my Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.!
READING
I had some STELLAR reads this week!! I finished the God and the Gumiho by Sophie Kim and immediately started the ARC of book 2, The God and the Gwisin. Book 1 has this incredible slightly campy kdrama romance feel. It’s a contemporary fantasy romance between a fallen god, Seokga, and a notorious gumiho, Kim Hani. I loved the main couple so much – and I especially enjoyed Seokga’s character growth.
Book 2 was super cute and I loved it just as much as the first one, although for different reasons. I won’t say anything about the plot cause there’s some big spoilers for book 1 but y’all should pick up The God and the Gumiho before book 2 comes out this summer!

I also read my ARC of Of Monsters and Mainframes by Barbara Truelove: a comedic sci-fi space opera perfect for fans of the Murderbot Diaries who want more snarky AIs in their life! I can’t recommend this one enough – and it was published by Bindery, one of my favorite publishers!

EATING
I didn’t do as much exciting cooking this week, tbh. I’m getting back in the swing of working out regularly, so I’ve been kinda tired. But I did make a few batches of beans! I’ve really fallen in love with making beans from scratch in the last year or so. Beans are high in fiber, a good source of protein, and high in iron and other vitamins and minerals. Plus, it’s really cheap to make a big batch of dry beans and use them throughout the week!
PLAYING
I’ll be listening to this Doechii Treadmill Strut during my workouts for a while, I think. Shoutout to Allie Bennett for constantly turning out absolute bangers for treadmill workouts!
