Hey y’all!
March is here!! I can’t believe March is here. I’m currently SufferingTM – due to Daylight Savings and a poor decision to stay up til 2 am reading. At least the book was good!
Here’s my Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.!
READING
I finished Dark Star Burning, Ash Falls White by Amelie Wen Zhao! This was the final book in the duology and I thought it made for a nice wrap-up to the series. Book one was a heavy hitter, with a lot of thoughtful reflection on colonialism, violence, and power. Book two was obviously wrapping up the series - it was much shorter and had a strong focus on resolving the romantic relationship alongside the main plot.
I’ve also been deep in an Ali Hazelwood phase! I finished Deep End, The Love Hypothesis, and Love on the Brain in the last week-ish and I’m *addicted*. I put off reading The Love Hypothesis because the Reylo origins put me off, but if any of you are delaying for the same reason, DON’T. These stand up on their own and while there’s some Star Wars references (especially in Love on the Brain), I could ignore it.

EATING
I made a bulk batch of chicken tenders and steak fries this week and then repurposed them into a bunch of meals. My favorites were kale chicken Caesar wraps and a kale chicken Caesar salad with kalamata olives. Yes, they both used Caesar dressing. It’s just that good!

I also tweaked a delicious shrimp and white bean dish by Diane Morrissey to include pasta so it could fill a whole meal for my partner and I with leftovers to spare. This was a BIG hit, highly recommend – I would just double the tomatoes and garlic, then use the pasta water to help coat everything at the end.

Finally, I got some fun drinks at my favorite local bar, Lily’s, with my little sister! This was a real treat – almost worth the hangover the next day lol.

PLAYING
NGL, mostly listened to Taylor Swift this week. I just kind of wanted my usual songs, so I put on my vinyls of Evermore and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
I’m also finishing reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, so I listened to the soundtrack to hear how they brought the songs to life! I think Rachel Zegler has a really gorgeous voice. I wish I was more excited to see her in the Snow White remake (especially with Greta Gerwig screenwriting) but…I’m just not.
